Million Dollar Spaghetti

Similar to lasagna but easy and quick to put together.  Family-friendly!

Serves 4-6             8 x 8 or 2 QT casserole

Ingredients:

1 - 16 oz tub of Saucier Marinara Sauce (defrosted)

12oz spaghetti noodles

3 Cloves of garlic, chopped

2/3 LB bulk Italian sausage (or ground beef)

½ tsp dried oregano

6 pats of cold butter

6 oz  cream cheese, cut in 6 pieces

8 oz pkg shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Boil spaghetti in salted water to box instructions, drain and place in large bowl. Toss with 1 tsp olive oil, set aside.

In large fry pan, cook Italian sausage until brown and crumbly. Drain excess grease. Stir in Marinara Sauce, simmer for 5 min.

Add chopped garlic and oregano.  Cook I minute.

Spray casserole dish with non-stick spray.

Place 1/3 of the spaghetti noodles in the casserole dish.

Top with 6 pats of cold butter, placed evenly over noodles.  Then top with 1/3 of the sausage and marinara sauce mixture.  Then top with 1/3 of the mozzarella and 1/3 of the parmesan cheeses.

Place another 1/3 of the spaghetti on top.  Next, place the cut cream cheese pieces all over the noodles.  Then top with another 1/3 of sauce mixture, and another 1/3 of both cheeses.

For the last layer, top with remaining spaghetti noodles, then sauce mixture and cheeses.

Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes.  Allow to cool 5 minutes before serving.

Serve with a crisp salad and garlic bread if desired.
